Catch 22.  If you’re clever and sane enough to put up an invincible case for suicide, it demonstrates you ought not to die.

Ken Harrison led a full and active life as a sculptor. That is now behind him as he lies in a hospital bed, totally paralysed after a car accident.  His mind alone is still active enabling him to put his case forcefully: he wants to leave hospital, although he is well aware that this will lead to his death.

Can a person that wishes to follow such a course be considered sane, or too depressed to decide on his own life and death?

The doctors, lawyers and nurses in Brian Clark's thought-provoking play grapple with these questions, arguing vigorously with Ken and among themselves, often with surprising flashes of humour.

The Mathematical Institute with its stark but impressive architecture provides the ideal backdrop to this modern hospital drama

Oxford Theatre Guild is the city’s largest and oldest amateur company with a 60-year tradition of presenting a wide-range of shows from the classics to the most modern and challenging.

"The ensemble acting of the company is functioning at a level as near to that of professional theatre as makes no odds. . . . Just terrific!” (Daily Info on Festen at The Mathematical Institute, October 2016)

Whose Life is it Anyway? promises an equally stimulating, and ultimately inspiring, evening.

This amateur production of “Whose Life Is It Anyway?” is presented by special arrangement with SAMUEL FRENCH, LTD.
