WORKSHOPS AND TRAINING
DRAMA WORKSHOPS, open to anyone interested in amateur theatre in Oxfordshire, are organised by the Workshops on Theatre (WOT) Committee. This comprises representatives from local drama groups, including OTG, who plan a programme of workshops on Saturdays or Sundays throughout the year on a wide range of topics.
The venue varies each month so that each area of Oxfordshire is covered during the year, and although you may have a longer journey to one, the next workshop should be closer to home. Since most members of amateur drama societies are involved in more than one type of activity from time to time, the aim is to appeal to actors, directors, management and technicians. Sometimes we do this all at one workshop, sometimes at more specialised days. Some workshop leaders are local members, and others are led by professionals who are happy to share their experience with us.
Suggestions are always welcome for topics for future workshops. Felicity Peacock is the OTG rep on the WOT Committee and would be very interested to have your ideas.

Workshop outline
This workshop aims at increasing confidence and understanding of our bodies, expanding our own physical vocabulary, developing awareness of other people in the space and the ability to react and respond to them. We will explore movement ideas and qualities through improvisation and group tasks. We will also focus on performing simple movement phrases, from gesture to hip hop!
No previous dance experience is necessary although it will be useful. We will be working individually, in pairs and in groups. Please wear loose soft clothing which will be comfortable to roll around in. Soft rubber soled dance shoes are suitable or simply bare feet.
More info is included on the booking form.
