Audition pieces
You will not be asked to prepare an audition piece before the audition. A number of extracts from the play have been selected which will form the basis of the first round auditions. There will be plenty of copies of the scenes available at the auditions. Each audition will begin by a short welcome from a member of the Guild and auditionees will then read and prepare specific extracts together, with some guidance from the director. They will then show their pieces to the audition group as a whole. There will also be some short improvisation exercises. The aim is to create a relaxed, fun atmosphere for the auditions – the director wants to see everyone at their most comfortable and confident.

PRODUCTION DETAILS
The play will run from Tuesday 13 to Saturday 17 December inclusive, with a matinee at 2.30pm on the Saturday. It will be the first play to be performed in the new Theatre at the Old Fire Station.

We will expect all cast and crew to be involved in publicising the play in addition to attending rehearsals, and help set up and take down before and after the production run.

Rehearsals will be held on a selection from the following dates:
Sundays from 18th Sept, ground room, Jericho Community Centre (2.30pm start)
Tuesdays from 20th Sept, ground room, Jericho Community Centre (7.30pm start)
Wednesdays from 21st Sept, back room, Summertown United Reformed Church Hall (7.30pm start)
And then Thursdays from 27th Oct, back room Summertown United Reformed Church Hall (7.30pm start)

Times and call dates will be confirmed in a full rehearsal schedule sent to all cast. Not all actors will be called to all rehearsals, with only those in the scene we are working on required. All actors need to be available, however, as it is not possible to tailor a rehearsal schedule based on the unavailability of any actor(s) for that 7–8 week period leading up to the performances.

Please note that the technical rehearsal will take place on Saturday 10th December (10am to 10pm). The Dress Rehearsal will be from 12pm to 6pm on Monday 12th December – so it will be necessary for cast members to ensure they are available at these times.

If you are not interested in auditioning, but would like to be part of the production, then look here for other opportunities to get involved.
