Treasure Island launch event

We are pleased to announce that our 2018 summer show will be:

Treasure Island

directed by Mike Taylor and Ophélie Lebrasseur (movement). We are thrilled to be presenting this exciting project at Trinity College in July 2018.

Mike writes:

“Our Treasure Island will be a spectacle of drama, lighting, sound and movement. This is not a pantomime or a cartoon: this is a thrilling coming-of-age story, of murder, greed and adventure. Our show will have the audiences sitting on the edge of their seats, engaged in and gripped by the action and movement. In a space such as the wilderness in Trinity, there is much opportunity for immersive theatre, and the directorial team will be using elements of parkour and capoeira. Ophélie (director of movement) will lead sessions to develop the physical performances, which will be suitable for people of all ages, fitness and experience.

The preferred adaptation (which was commissioned for a recent National Theatre production) has a well-balanced cast for an equal number of women and men, aged from 18 and up. The lead part, Jim, is a young woman in this script.”

We are holding a launch event on 15th January 2018 at 7.30pm at the Summertown URC hall. This will be a chance to meet the directors and find out more about the project. We hope that you will be able to come!

Auditions will be towards the end of January, with full details to be announced soon.
